Emergency Accommodation

Mountbatten Pavilion offers emergency accommodation for veterans who are facing crisis, whether due to homelessness, mental health challenges, or sudden life disruption. Located in the RBVE Village in Aylesford, Kent, it provides a safe, respectful space to begin rebuilding.

With 28 private rooms and shared living spaces, Mountbatten is more than just shelter. It’s a community where veterans support one another and take the first steps toward independence.

A Stepping Stone to Independence

Mountbatten Pavilion is designed as a short-term home that helps veterans move forward. Every resident is supported through our Step-In programme, which tailors care to individual needs, from mental health support to practical life skills.

Residents also partake in Lifeworks, our award-winning employment support programme, and can get involved in volunteering, training, and community activities across the Village.

James' Story

After serving two tours in Afghanistan, James struggled with his mental health and became homeless. At Mountbatten, he received tailored support through the Step-In programme, began counselling, and started volunteering. Today, James lives independently in the Centenary Village and is working toward a career in farming.

“The support I always thought I didn’t need, RBVE helped me rebuild a life I now love.” – James, Infantry Veteran and former Mountbatten resident
